And today I received an email with monthly bank statement which was password protected PDF. I knew the password but could not save it as normal PDF without asking user for password. It was quite annoying and needed some third party software to break the password. Here are the steps I applied to save the PDF as normal PDF. I used two software for this : Google Drive and Cute PDF Writer. Both are free and I use them almost daily. The prerequisite before you begin is that you should know the password of the PDF file and cute pdf writer should be installed.
- Goto https://drive.google.com. and upload the pdf.
- Click on the uploaded pdf and enter the password.
- Once the PDF is displayed. Click on the print icon.
- Select Cute PDF writer from the printers listed.
- Click on Print and select your choices ( see the screenshot below ).
- The document will be saved as PDF without password.
